OCD Records….a definition….

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Records (OCD Records)

Definition
A psychiatric disorder, characterised by intrusive thoughts that create an
uncontrollable desire to produce music. Aimed at reducing anxiety by a
combination of such thoughts (obsessions) and behaviours (compulsions).

Symptoms may include: The person(s) feels driven to create repetitive beats;
aversion to strange sounds; extensive programming; nervous habits – such as
listening to a track over and over and over and over again before releasing it
to the public for their approval; staying up all night to ‘test out’ their latest
musical compulsive creations in confined spaces with total strangers on
loud soundsystems.

These symptoms can be alienating and time-consuming, often causing severe
emotional and financial distress. The acts of those who have ‘OCD Records’ may
appear obsessive or come across to others as psychotic. The only glimmer of
hope in their tortured existence is that their humble musical offerings bring
joy to both fellow sufferers and to the general record-buying public alike.

On a lighter note….OCD Records was born from the forward thinking OCD club nights in East London. We brought together cutting edge djs and live electronic bands in an intimate sweaty Eastend venue back in 2006. WATCH THIS SPACE for anything from Underground Electro Pop to Acid Techno…
